biz cards are here....

Sneak peak :)

"Translation"

My "Analog to Digital and Back" class is completely random. But the final project I'm really into! The assignment was "Translation". Thats it... haha

So I chose to translate an ancient Chinese painting into an abstract 3D drawing/sculpture while employing the use of the laser engraver!

First, I bought some special wood and stained + shellacked it myself

Then i created the vector outlines and had the laser cut it out

my collection of wood in different shades of stain and the work in progress of my piece

This is the actual ancient Chinese painting that I'm referencing for my piece. It's titled "Seeking the Tao in the Autumn Mountains"

And for funsies, Some previous work I did with the laser cutter:

Andross!

"A day in the life" series progress

I've been really quiet lately...
With graduation approaching, I've have had my hands full with working on my website, doing graduation announcements and portraits, and a plethora of other miscellaneous tasks. So I have 11 or 12 pages done (ish). Here's 9 of the completed 11 pages of line work:
India ink and brush pens 11"x14"

I'm going for a muted color palette with the entire series, the the dominant color reflecting the content of the drawing. I layed out the color palette for each image and now I'm working on cleaning up the coloring and adding detail and texture.

preview of one of the drawings :o
Lots more work to do..

Finished inking the first 6 of the school life series. Submitted them to the Anderson Gallery juried show. So if I do get in, then I guess I don't get to color em til April 17 O_o Now for the next series of 6 adventure day illustrations!
I think I need to take a break from the project... but I can't.

Senior Project Progress

First off, a self portrait.

WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOIN?
So I have 12 of these to complete by the end of the semester (!!!). 6 Are going to be grayscale with an accent color and inked line art, and 6 will be full color, digital pieces. All 11"x14". Right now I'm workin on the grayscale ones. I'm jumpin around, trying to work on many all at the same time... so none are completed at this point. Here's a sneak peak:

I really hope I can pull this off. I'll be an accomplishment to see it all completed and put together sequentially.

More to come!
